On today's otaku friday we will be reviewing the manga "La Corda D'Oro" Directly translated to "The Golden String" , The Golden Cord is  multi volume manga series based on a Visual novel video game, that also goes by the same name. Visual novels are very popular among young adults and teens of asia. Visual Novels Consist of you choosing a potential lover who then asks you a series of questions in story mode that unfold a different ending depending on your answers.

         So What's That Story About??

Kahoko is a normal student in the General Education department with absolutely no musical skill, but all that changes when she catches a glimpse of an elusive fairy who lives on campus. The fairy grants Kahoko a magic violin, and before she knows it, she's nominated to participate in the school's music competition with five very attractive boys. Will she win love and fame, or will bitter rivalry rule the day?
*** So the overall story is heading im the right direction, we have the regular shôjo girl who usually tends to be the hardworking and dilengent but still has that i can't do anything unless these hot guys to push me too it, that just can't help to fall in love with her.

    Character Introduction!

Okay so lets just go ahead and skip Kohoko, because she is exactly what everyone is thinking the "Shôjo girl", and lets get right to it, Thats right The Guys (The best part of shôjo *-*)

Len: Len a 2nd year in the musical department is kohoko's top rival in the competition . Why? Well, Len just happens to be a prodigy Violinists who's just amazing although, kohoko has a magical violin she can not compare to lens skills. At First Len Is depicted as cold and strict, but he soons starts to warm up to Kohoko and finds parts of himself that he himself didn't know existed and learns that true music comes from the heart and not just in soulful Talent

Azuma: Azuma is a very popular 3rd year student in the musical department that plays the flute. Azuma is a very sweet and caring character.

    ****Spoiler****
Or it seems later in the story azuma shows a double personality that only kohoko knows. Azuma turns into a dark character that often threatens kohoko to leave the competition but he later admits to having feelings for her and dedicates one of his  performance to kohoko, kohoko ignorant of this gesture.
*Azuma is really my favorite character, I love how he teases kohoko and truly worries about her.
                                        *****Spoiler Ends Here*****
Keiichi: Keiichi is a first year music student that plays the cello. Keiichi is called sleeping beauty because he is always falling asleep everywhere and has a angelic handsome face.

Kizuki: Kizuki Is a 3rd year music student whos specialty is the trumpet. He is Best friends with azuma and supports him in anything and vice versa. He is Energetic, Loud, And eats anything.
*No Spoilers Here Just know that there's more to Kizuki than you know.

Ryotoro: A 2nd year student from the General Education department. He plays soccer and his specialty is the piano. He always helps Hino, because Hino was the reason he started playing piano again. Ryotaro, like Hino, is very straightforward and honest. He usually says exactly what he thinks, which means he can get a bit angry, but he is also loving and caring.
*Omg I Just Love Ryotoro  *-*

Shoko: She is a 1st year student from the Music department. She's very shy, and she admires Hino
very much. Her specialty is the clarinet. She often becomes frightened by loud voices. Her parents are rich, so they usually go to her pensions for training and stuff.

So Tell Me Why Should I Read This??

Well Because it's the bomb that's why! The chemistry between all the characters is infactuating yuki's art is clean and crisp and just captivating, and beautiful. The story itself is great and beautifully tied with music. The hardships kohoko faces and the fights she has with her inner self and love for music is a great way to help even you feel like you should persuade what really makes your heart beat faster for kohoko it was the love of music and her beautiful friendship she gets to experience with the people she meets with the help of music.

Cool Other Stuff about La Corda D'oro

La Corda D'Oro is a whole game franchise that has new characters in different versions on the games, it also has a anime based on the manga by the same name, which really makes you feel the beautiful chemistry and music. La Corda D'Oro has 2nd season with all new different characters called La Corda D'Oro: Blue sky which I still haven't gotten the chance to watch but am very enthusiastic about. Rich, handsome, and arrogant, Gu Jun-pyo (Lee Min-ho), Yoon Ji-hoo (Kim Hyun-joong), So Yi-jeong (Kim Bum), and Song Woo-bin (Kim Joon) are the kings of the school and no one, not even the teachers, dare challenge them. No one, that is, except Jan-di. Angry at their rudeness, Jan-di tells off F4's leader Jun-pyo, bringing a world of trouble upon herself. The proud and persistent Jun-pyo falls hard for feisty Jan-di, but she shares a connection with the quiet, sensitive Ji-hoo. Through Jan-di's encouragement, Ji-hoo goes abroad to join his model girlfriend Min Seo-hyun, and in his absence, Jan-di and Jun-pyo grow closer. Soon Jan-di realizes that it is Jun-pyo that she really loves, not Ji-hoo. But numerous difficulties arise, threatening their relationship. Jun-pyo's mother, a cruel and selfish businesswoman who is also the President of Shinhwa group, disapproves of Jan-di's lowly upbringing and tries her best to split them up. And newly single Ji-hoo returns to Korea, prepared to declare his feelings for Jan-di. After Ji-hoo returns, he tried to hide his feelings for Jan-di, but Jun-pyo finds out.

    My Thoughts :O

Honestly It's hard not to love Boys Over Flowers I mean I've watched this version over 3 times and it's my favorite! I Haven't gotten the chance to read the manga, One reason is because  I really like to have the reading copy in my hand and not read of a website and also the extensive list of volumes! but if you really do like anime and manga I will guarantee you will love this Korean drama if your not a big fan of Korean dramas give the anime a shot its really good and so is the Japanese live action version, I mean this whole story is loved around the world. What's It Bout??!

Volume One:Poor Sumi Kitamura… Her irresponsible older brother Eisuke keeps bringing home orphans for her to take care of even though they can barely afford their own basic needs! But can Sumi fool high society into thinking she's a proper lady? Moreover, is it worth giving up everything for this sham of a marriage?Volume Two:Sumi becomes torn when Soichiro's childhood friend Nozomu expresses romantic interest in her. While she is drawn to Nozomu, she is also committed to Soichiro as his wife. As Sumi fights off her feelings for Nozomu, how far will Nozomu go to win Sumi's love?Volume Three:Sumi begins to regret running away with Nozomu and wonders if she loves him after all. Nozomu's love for her, however, is bordering on becoming an unhealthy obsession. When things heat up and Sumi's life is in danger, will Soichiro come to her rescue?

    Review That Manga!!

Sumi Kitamura is a dirt poor girl that lives in a shack with her gambling orphan bringing brother(like him having a gambling problem wasn't hard enough they can't even pay rent and here comes Esuke which is in fact a total bag of dookie who could really care less about his younger sister). One day one of the orphans get sick, and frightened Sumi runs in order to get the child to the doctor, where no one helps her except for a young blond man, which happens to be the 2nd lead, and the man Sumi falls in love with. One day while loan sharks come to ask for her brother and the landlord threatens to throw Sumi, her brother and the orphans (which Sumi love as her own) out, comes the saviour of the story which just happens to be Ashida a rich billionaire and our lead guy. He offers to pay her brothers debt and the landlord if she marries him, but as a contract marriage. He tells her that he will never love her, and that she shall never grow feeling for him, in a desperate state Sumi agrees and goes of leaving her brother, and children to learn how to become a proper lady. (All takes place in volume one) When Sumi starts feeling desperate for a way out she soon meets Ashida's best friend who just happens to be Nozomu, and the man who helped her when she was in her hardest time, Nozumo starts showing Romantic interest for her and they plan to run away together, but at the last minute Sumi wants to return to Ashida, when she realizes that shes really in love with him, but Nozomu refuses to let her go and ties her down against her will, soon after a horrible accident starts where a candle falls and engulfs the building leaving Sumi trapped this is when Ashida comes to the rescue and saves her. (All Takes place in volume two) the third volume focus mostly on the growing relationship of Sumi and Ashida. Okay as you can tell from my banner (currently Ashida and Sumi) I'm in love with this manga it takes place in a different century and its just great. Rinko Ueda art is really amazing, and I love the growing relationship between Ashida and Sumi. This story is also about him trying to take over the family business which required him to have a wife at a certain age those the contract marriage with Sumi but he really is very messed up he had a hard childhood which she helps him overcome and is very childlike at times if you love a romance with a realistic feel for it which sometimes you just feel like escaping but realize that everything you really want you have but can be hard to get. I don't recommend this for everyone because it is a bittersweet love story, and won't do for people that usually go for the magical child like feel of shoujo or the comedy but its a wonderful story that im sure anyone would fall in love. Well that's all for this weeks otaku friday see you next week!!

    What's It Bout??!
In company-owned rabbit-hutch apartments live tenants who can't afford to live anywhere else, and the apartment complex in which high-school girl Hatsumi Narita lives is ruled over by the rumor mongering, self-righteous Mrs. Tachibana. Get on Tachibana's bad side, and life becomes hell. When Hatsumi has to buy a pregnancy test because her popular sister Akane is late, Mrs. Tachibana's son, Ryoki, who used to bully Hatsumi as a kid, promises not to tell the world about Hatsumi's secret, only if she becomes his slave. Suddenly Azusa, Hatsumi's protector in their youth, reappears to save her again! He's moving back into the neighborhood! Despite the budding romance between Hatsumi and Azusa, Ryoki has control over her through the secret that could ruin the lives of everyone in Hatsumi's family, and he hasn't forgotten who his slave is!

    Review That Manga!

Miki Aihara's Hot Gimmicks art is just BEAUTIFUL although scenery could be better, and sometimes the characters look as they had been drawn in a hurry, But all in all the art really does get a 4 out of 5 stars! Now lets get to the point the story. Hatsumi who is the main female character is exactly like any manga heroine the i'm dull and insecure, but look all this hot guys fanning over me! ya get over it shoujo what can we do right.  Anyways Hatsumi  is a ditsy girl that goes and buys her sister a pregnancy test because she is late on her period. She goes and buys the pregnancy test, but totally bumps into Ryoki who just happens to be a total ass, she drops everything inside her corner store back and he just happens to be as so polite to pick it up for her and notices the pregnancy test, he promises not to tell if she agrees to be her SLAVE oh yes Slave. Ryoki is a total cherry (Virgin) and wants to practice on Hatsumi, who he thinks is a total loosely following the pregnancy test (wouldn't we all) but Hatsumi is also a cherry. Then Comes Azusa her childhood friend to the rescue in the rest on the story Ryoki keeps bugging to tell everyone if she doesn't do everything he says and Azusa well hes comes to her "Rescue". I Totally love the whole you're my slave and Ryoki really is a sweetheart that doesn't know what love is he always gets the need to bully her, which is just a immature way of showing his affection towards her, as his bestfriend tells him all the time. He really is my favorite character and I hope Hatsumi stays with him. Asuza is also a really great guy but he seems so shady to me, then there's Shingou, but you should get to that part yourself.... no spoilers all in all, its a great story I recommend this to all you manga readers as well as young adult reader, and that's all in today's Otaku Friday come back next week for the next Otaku friday!
